Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and improve backend applications using PHP and Go, implementing software engineering best practices while addressing performance, availability, and scalability requirements from the beginning.

• Engage in the modeling and advancement of data structures, considering query performance, data volume, and platform expansion.

• Oversee application behavior in production, troubleshooting errors, bottlenecks, performance issues, and potential customer and user impacts.

• Analyze and rectify incidents, consistently enhancing the platform's stability and availability.

• Collaborate within Product squads, offering technical insights from solution design to implementation and production oversight.

• Suggest improvements in architecture, code, databases, and infrastructure that boost system robustness, performance, maintainability, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing, testing, and maintaining web applications in mission-critical settings with high availability, substantial request volumes, and thousands of concurrent users.

• Minimum of 5 years in backend development.

• Proficiency in PHP, Go, and JavaScript development.

• Solid understanding of software architecture, SOLID principles, design patterns, and development best practices.

• Strong grasp of data modeling and relational as well as non-relational databases, considering performance, concurrency, and large data volumes.

• Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, with a focus on performance, security, resilience, and scalability.

• Capability to analyze performance challenges, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for high-load systems.

• Excellent logical reasoning, organizational skills, and the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues.

• A passion for teamwork characterized by transparency, honesty, collaboration, and a commitment to results, quality, and agility.

• Eagerness to learn new technologies and embrace engineering challenges related to the evolution of a platform utilized at a large scale.
