Azure Platform – DevOps Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and manage LodeStar’s Azure infrastructure utilizing Terraform or similar tools, ensuring separate environments for development, testing, and production.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and Jenkins, incorporating automated testing, approval gates, and rollback mechanisms.

• Operate PostgreSQL in production, managing backups, conducting regular restore tests, and optimizing performance.

• Oversee availability and performance monitoring, lead incident responses, and establish and report on service level objectives.

• Enhance platform security using Entra ID, least-privilege access protocols, Key Vault, and private networking.

• Manage infrastructure supporting LodeStar’s AI services, including model API access, usage tracking, and cost management.

• Administer Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket, focusing on access controls, permissions, single sign-on, licensing, applications, upgrades, and backups.

• Optimize Jira workflows, automation, dashboards, and reporting in collaboration with engineering, project management, and operations teams.

• Maintain an organized Confluence environment with a clear space structure, templates, and permissions.

• Establish and uphold DevOps standards across Fidus, covering source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD practices.

• Participate in IT initiatives including change management, security reviews, and shared on-call responsibilities.

• Collaborate closely with LodeStar build and product leads as well as engineering teams throughout Fidus.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering, with at least 2 years of experience supporting production workloads on Azure.

• Strong practical experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code methodologies.

• Proficient in building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

• Familiarity with container technologies, including Docker, Azure Container Apps, or AKS.

• Experience managing Jira and Confluence, focusing on workflow design, automation, and permissions management.

• Production-level experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.

• Strong Linux administration and networking skills, including experience in hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.

• Knowledge of cloud security and identity management practices.

• Proficient in scripting with Python or Bash.

• Experience in on-call support and incident management.

• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Candidates must meet eligibility criteria for Fidus’s export-control screening and, if in Canada, a Controlled Goods Program security assessment.
