AWS Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct and oversee comprehensive project planning and execution for AWS cloud migration and network modernization projects.

• Take ownership of the delivery for extensive cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

• Collaborate with cloud engineers, network architects, and security teams to design and implement secure AWS network environments.

• Manage hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and AWS GovCloud.

• Lead schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder management across complex multi-account AWS environments.

• Create and maintain integrated master schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource plans.

• Plan and execute the transition from data center to cloud, sequencing network, security, and application dependencies.

• Oversee communications with government program offices, including status updates, risk assessments, and issue escalations.

• Monitor risks, issues, and action items while implementing mitigation strategies.

• Ensure all deliverables and processes comply with federal security regulations.

• Manage project scope, change control, and documentation processes.

• Facilitate agile ceremonies and traditional milestone reviews.

• Assist with budget tracking, resource allocation, and invoicing coordination.

• Prepare executive-level briefings and status reports for government stakeholders and leadership from VSO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in project management, with a focus on IT, cloud infrastructure, or network modernization programs.

• Proven experience in managing large-scale AWS cloud migration or modernization projects.

• Familiarity with hybrid on-premises to AWS GovCloud environments.

• Experience coordinating cloud engineers, network architects, and security teams in a matrixed program setup.

• Working knowledge of VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and hybrid connectivity solutions.

• Demonstrated capability in managing project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and stakeholder communications on federal or DoD programs.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code delivery practices, such as Terraform or CloudFormation, is beneficial.

• Experience with both agile and traditional/waterfall project management methodologies in a federal contracting context.

• PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Top Secret clearance is required.

• Willingness to travel every 1-2 months.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
