AWS Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, upkeep, and ongoing enhancement of the client's data platform.

• Collaborate with Lakehouse architectures, data pipelines, data modeling, and cloud analytics solutions.

• Facilitate communication among data science team members, data scientists developing AI models, and the personnel responsible for implementing and managing them.

• Identify, create, and prepare data for innovative data solutions and AI applications.

• Design ETL and ELT processes for data transformation.

• Construct, build, and oversee Datalake architectures.

• Engage with Apache Hadoop projects, including Spark, Hive, Pig, Oozie, and Airflow.

• Integrate and validate data solutions.

• Develop and document tests to fulfill requirements.

• Operate within Big Data environments.

• Oversee data cloud services, data access, security, and data governance.

• Analyze and prepare data for machine learning workloads.

• Manage application and service monitoring and logging.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a Data Engineer/Architect role involving ETL, data preparation & ingestion, and data streaming.

• Familiarity with AWS environments.

• Proficient in Python, R, or other data processing tools.

• Intermediate to upper-level English proficiency.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark.

• Knowledge of AWS Data services including S3, AWS or Microsoft Glue, Athena, Sagemaker, etc.

• Experience with DevOps tools such as Git and pipelines.

• Experience working within an Agile Scrum team.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).

• Must be able to work from Argentina.

• Availability for a shift from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.
