AWS Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Provide recommendations on technology selections and create standardized cloud architecture frameworks for AWS migrations.

• Assess and approve target application architectures during technical change committee meetings.

• Collaborate with CCoE teams across Foundations, SecOps, FinOps, and DevOps to uphold best practices.

• Analyze candidates within the application portfolio to identify the best migration strategies and landing zone placements.

• Offer strategic advice on Infrastructure as Code governance, security standards, and cloud compliance.

• Implement cost optimization strategies and FinOps practices across the organization's AWS workloads.

• Work alongside development and platform engineering teams to enhance application deployment strategies and optimize cloud resource usage.

• Establish and promote cloud security best practices, governance frameworks, and architectural guidelines.

• Create documentation for architectural blueprints, decision records, and reference architectures.

• Guide engineering teams in cloud-native practices, architectural standards, and contemporary cloud design methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in the IT sector.

• At least 3 years specifically dedicated to AWS cloud architecture and advisory functions.

• Advanced knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) core infrastructure, networking, security, and governance tools.

• Demonstrated experience in technical advisory roles, architecture review boards, or change management committees.

• Strong proficiency in Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) frameworks, including FinOps, SecOps, and Landing Zone governance.

• Comprehensive understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and governance tools, such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with cloud security compliance standards, threat modeling, and IAM policy design.

• Relevant AWS Certifications, like AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional, are highly desirable.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to lead technical discussions in English.
