This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
β’ Install and integrate avionics hardware and software on production UAS in accordance with work instructions, schematics, and specifications.
β’ Construct and install wiring harnesses, avionics racks, LRUs, antennas, and sensors.
β’ Conduct continuity checks, pinouts, insulation resistance testing, and system functionality tests.
β’ Implement acceptance and production test procedures while documenting the results.
β’ Diagnose and rectify production discrepancies and non-conformances.
β’ Ensure compliance with configuration management, quality, and workmanship standards.
β’ Fill out production travelers, build records, and maintenance documentation.
β’ Assist with first article inspections, audits, and quality assessments.
β’ Uphold compliance with safety, security, and export control regulations.
β’ Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to enhance build efficiency and product quality.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in avionics maintenance or integration (for both manned and unmanned aircraft).
β’ Must be a U.S. citizen.
β’ Capability to work in classified and controlled settings.
β’ Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
β’ Strong understanding of avionics systems, electrical theory, and troubleshooting methods.
β’ Proficient in interpreting technical orders, wiring diagrams, and engineering schematics.
β’ Practical experience with testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
β’ Familiarity with basic machine shop tools, such as saws, drills, and brakes.
β’ U.S. Person status is required due to export control laws.
β’ Preferred experience working with composite airframes.
β’ Experience in supporting DoD or military aviation programs is preferred.
β’ Prior military avionics training or FAA A&P certification is preferred.
β’ UAS-specific avionics or flight control system experience is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of MIL-STD wiring, connectors, and workmanship standards is preferred.
β’ Experience with RF systems, datalinks, and secure communications is preferred.
β’ An active Secret or higher security clearance is preferred.
