Automotive Installation Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Install and troubleshoot GPS systems, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking devices.

• Work with light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and various fleet assets.

• Carry out basic 12V/24V wiring tasks, which include power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.

• Route and secure wiring to ensure clean and professional installations.

• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and overall system functionality.

• Diagnose issues related to electrical connections, connectivity, and installations.

• Document completed installations with photographs, device information, and service notes.

• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and project work.

• Maintain a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and first-time-right installations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.

• Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostic practices.

• Comfortable and proficient in using both hand and power tools.

• Ability to interpret basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to work independently in a mobile setting.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

• Professional communication skills and customer service orientation.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Preferred experience in telematics, GPS, or ELD installations.

• Familiarity with platforms such as Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar is preferred.

• Preferred experience with 12V/24V electrical systems.

• Experience with commercial trucks or trailers is preferred.

• Preferred experience in ADAS scanning or calibration.

• ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications are preferred.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
