This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Conduct investigations into personal and commercial automobile claims to ascertain applicable coverage and liability.
• Gather recorded statements from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
• Analyze policy language, endorsements, pertinent statutes, and state-specific claim-handling regulations.
• Assess automobile damage utilizing repair estimates, photographs, valuation reports, and supporting documentation.
• Manage total-loss claims, which includes vehicle valuation, settlement negotiations, title documentation, salvage coordination, and communication with lienholders.
• Set and maintain precise claim reserves.
• Negotiate and settle eligible claims promptly, accurately, and fairly.
• Collaborate with policyholders, claimants, agents, repair facilities, appraisers, vendors, lienholders, and other involved parties.
• Ensure timely and professional communication through telephone, email, and written correspondence.
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive claim-file documentation and reports.
• Handle a high-volume workload while adhering to company standards and regulatory deadlines.
• Deliver professional customer service and effectively resolve conflicts.
• Maintain necessary state adjuster licenses and fulfill continuing education requirements.
• Adapt to evolving laws, policy provisions, procedures, and technological advancements.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Minimum of two years of experience in managing automobile total-loss or material-damage claims is required.
• Experience in handling claims across multiple states is highly desirable.
• A college degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Possession of AIC, CPCU, or other insurance-related designations is a plus, but not required.
• Comprehensive understanding of personal and commercial automobile policy coverages and their applications.
• Working knowledge of automobiles, repair procedures, repair estimates, vehicle valuations, and total-loss settlements.
• Familiarity with motor carrier damage and cargo losses.
• Strong analytical, investigative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Capability to prioritize and complete tasks accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to function effectively in a paperless claims-management system.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving claim-handling requirements.
• Capability to work effectively and efficiently in a remote work environment.
• Must have an appropriate home-office setup and reliable high-speed internet service.
• Standard schedule of 40 hours per week, comprised of eight-hour days, five days per week.
• Overtime may be necessary during periods of increased claim volume.
• Must maintain all required state adjuster licenses and complete continuing education obligations.
• Regular and dependable attendance is essential.
• Must be willing to travel as needed and participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
• Must possess sufficient hand and finger dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
