This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Assist with prior authorization requests to ensure they are handled within contractual timeframes.
• Collaborate with the utilization management team to document authorization requests.
• Gather accurate and timely documentation related to members' healthcare eligibility and access.
• Facilitate authorization requests in line with the insurance prior authorization list.
• Conduct data entry to maintain and update authorization requests within the utilization management system.
• Monitor authorizations and referrals while keeping appropriate documentation in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Record medical information, including history, diagnosis, and prognosis, for clinical reviewer assessments.
• Remain updated on healthcare, authorization processes, policies, and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance practices is preferred.
• This is an entry-level position that typically requires minimal or no previous experience.
