This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.
• Define the Always-On Audit service by establishing its checks and issue resolution methods.
• Convert billing discrepancies into consistent audit rules, tolerance levels, and automated dispute processes.
• Advocate for audit considerations in roadmap and prioritization discussions.
• Connect the service with financial reporting, payment file creation, and integration with finance systems.
• Develop and implement a systematic client onboarding procedure.
• Assemble stakeholder teams, collect requirements, conduct demonstrations, set up invoice feeds, review initial findings, configure dashboards and tolerances, and perform side-by-side comparisons with clients' existing audit providers.
• Guarantee proof points for onboarding related to discrepancy identification, reporting, data feeds, GL coding, dispute processes, and payment file creation.
• Act as the main client contact for inquiries, concerns, and disputes.
• Deliver ongoing audit evaluations, refine rules, and resolve recurring issues for managed-service clients.
• Take ownership of escalated disputes through carrier account teams and ensure they are resolved.
• Collaborate with carrier operations and carriers to streamline reconciliation and enhance billing and dispute standards.
• Drive improvements in invoice formats, detail levels, surcharge and accessorial data, and dispute mechanisms on a carrier-by-carrier basis.
• Lead Audit Advisors and oversee the efficiency, accuracy, and comprehensiveness of their efforts.
• Manage staffing and workload during the peak invoice season from December to February.
• Over 7 years of experience in parcel, freight, or transportation billing audits, encompassing carrier billing, accessorials and surcharges, contract-rate validation, disputes, and recovery.
• More than 5 years of experience working with carrier invoice data (EDI, API, or flat file) and reconciling it with financial records, including GL coding and payment files.
• At least 3 years of experience collaborating with a software or technology team to set up audit rules, tolerances, and dispute workflows, transforming audit findings into repeatable checks.
• Over 5 years in a client-facing or account-management position, managing senior stakeholders and escalations, preferably within enterprise retailers or brands.
• Minimum of 2 years leading a team of audit analysts, specialists, or similar roles, establishing quality standards and pace.
• Understanding of major carriers' dispute systems and filing timelines, as well as recognition of gaps with regional carriers.
• Knowledge of retail finance concepts, including the 4-5-4 close, transportation accruals, and shipped-not-invoiced treatment.
• Familiarity with ACH settlement and payment authorization frameworks.
