Audio Segmentation, Transcription – Cantonese, Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Accurately transcribe Cantonese-English audio clips.

• Break down audio into natural speech segments.

• Identify and label speakers in instances of multiple voices.

• Include simple annotations such as gender, age group, and emotion.

• If assigned, review and validate transcription quality through Quality Control (QC) tasks.

• Adhere to project guidelines to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Actively communicate with the Project Manager for any clarifications needed.

• Complete tasks within the designated project timeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in spoken Cantonese and capable of writing in Traditional Chinese.

• Fluent in English for effective project communication and comprehension of guidelines.

• Cantonese speakers from Hong Kong and Malaysia are encouraged to apply.

• Background in healthcare or knowledge of medical terminology commonly used in clinical settings.

• Familiarity with using a Cantonese Jyutping keyboard.

• Excellent listening and comprehension abilities, with a capacity to understand various accents, speaking styles, and background noise.

• Detail-oriented and patient, maintaining an accuracy rate of at least 95%.

• Willingness to ask questions when uncertainties arise.

• Access to a laptop or desktop computer, headset, and a reliable internet connection.

• Capability to manage your own time effectively and meet deadlines.

• Bonus: Previous experience in transcription, audio annotation, data labeling, linguistics, healthcare-related language work, or AI-related projects is a plus.
