This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Manage all facets of defense litigation related to workers' compensation, encompassing pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, and appeals.
β’ Deliver strategic legal analysis and case assessments to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.
β’ Prepare and advocate cases before Deputy Commissioners.
β’ Draft compelling motions, briefs, and evaluations for settlements.
β’ Maintain regular communication with clients to offer updates, suggestions, and risk assessments.
β’ Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to guarantee effective and efficient case management.
β’ A JD degree from a law school accredited by the ABA is required.
β’ An active license in good standing in Virginia is mandatory.
β’ A license in Washington D.C. and/or Maryland is preferred.
β’ 2-5 years of relevant experience in workers' compensation is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software is preferred.
β’ A self-driven independent thinker is essential.
β’ Exceptional time management abilities are required.
β’ Strong organizational skills are necessary.
β’ Excellent communication skills are a must.
