Associate Technical Architect – Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Serve as an Associate Technical Architect by designing and architecting data solutions.

• Engage directly with SQL, Spark/PySpark, Python, and Apache Iceberg.

• Enhance Spark/PySpark jobs and databases that utilize Apache Iceberg, ClickHouse, and Aurora PostgreSQL.

• Participate in enterprise greenfield projects that encompass application development tasks.

• Assist customer workloads and utilize cases within the Financial Services Industry (FSI).

• Create data pipelines that incorporate data virtualization and governance tools.

• Utilize AWS data and cloud services effectively.

• Lead and collaborate with teams to address complex challenges faced by clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience.

• Proficient hands-on understanding of SQL, particularly with analytical queries, window functions, and stored procedures.

• Strong practical knowledge of Spark/PySpark, Python, and Apache Iceberg.

• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services including Athena, Aurora RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudWatch, Glue Catalog, EMR, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, SNS, and IAM.

• Hands-on experience in optimizing Spark/PySpark jobs.

• Proven experience in optimizing databases for Apache Iceberg, ClickHouse, and Aurora PostgreSQL.

• Background in working on enterprise greenfield projects with application development tasks.

• Experience engaging with customers/workloads in the Financial Services Industry (FSI) domain.

• Experience in building data pipelines that integrate with data virtualization tools like Denedo and data governance tools such as Collibra.

• Familiarity with SSIS.

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools.

• Knowledge of telecom mobile networks is preferred but not essential.
