
Associate Sales Representative – Primary Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Promote and market primary care products to healthcare providers within the designated Greenville area.
• Cultivate demand, provide clinical education, and drive sales by formulating, coordinating, and executing a strategic business plan for primary care physicians.
• Inform healthcare professionals about clinical evidence, approved uses, and product efficacy and safety profiles to facilitate on-label prescribing.
• Independently enhance sales performance to meet or surpass sales forecasts, budget allocations, and territory expectations.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with primary care healthcare professionals and pharmacy personnel.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of market dynamics, demographics, and managed-care data relevant to the assigned territory.
• Encourage appropriate utilization of approved primary care products and facilitate payer and community healthcare-provider integration.
• Collaborate with the District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategies and business plans.
• Execute targeting strategies utilizing promotional, digital, personnel, and analytical resources.
• Use insights about the primary care marketplace, competition, industry trends, and cross-functional initiatives to navigate business opportunities and challenges.
• Deliver specialized education to healthcare providers through programs that adhere to Shionogi guidelines.
• Offer strategic and tactical insights to commercial team members.
• Prioritize engagement with physician targets through both in-person and virtual interactions.
• Understand customer product and business needs while upholding Shionogi's ethical and compliance standards.
• Anticipate challenges and propose responsible solutions.
• Address customer objections and aim to exceed their expectations.
• Share exemplary skills with regional colleagues in a mentorship role when necessary.
• Utilize emerging technologies to boost performance and enhance proficiency.
• Adhere to pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations while maintaining high ethical standards.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, and other internal partners to drive sales outcomes.
• Report directly to the District Manager.
• A BS/BA degree is required.
• A proven history of achievement in a professional capacity, academics, or extracurricular activities is essential.
• A minimum of 3+ years of prior sales experience is required for the Sales Representative level.
• A consistent track record of high performance in a sales-focused role or other relevant experience is preferred.
• Previous sales experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical devices, or related transferable sales experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate long-term relationships.
• Capability to work autonomously and manage multiple clients effectively.
• Ethical and compliant behavior in accordance with company policies and applicable laws is critical.
• Strong understanding of the primary care market and healthcare industry is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, primary care, or pharmacy sectors along with clinical skills is preferred.
• Experience with product launches is an advantage.
• Familiarity with the territory and established relationships with key stakeholders is a plus.
• Proficiency in Veeva CRM, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and calendar-based call planning tools is a plus.
• Experience in marketing or other commercial roles, financial processes, Market Access, project management, and regulatory knowledge within biotech/pharma is a plus.
• Strong written, organizational, administrative, and communication skills are required.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities are essential.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills are required.
• Proven capability to receive constructive feedback and adjust performance accordingly.
• Results-oriented with demonstrated time management skills.
• Ability to learn, analyze, understand, and communicate complex information effectively.

• Ability to meet customer credentialing and safety requirements, including maintaining up-to-date vaccinations and training.
• Completion of the full onboarding curriculum, including clinical modules, CRM documentation, and call standards, is required.
• Successful completion of live call certification and mock objections during training is necessary.
• Attendance at refresher meetings on product and disease-state updates is expected.
• Significant field travel, approximately 80%, including potential overnight and weekend commitments, is required.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a comprehensive background check is required.
• Valid licenses and credentialing are necessary to conduct business in the assigned territory.
• Ability to travel by car or air to target accounts, customers, meetings, and conventions is essential.
