Associate Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Negotiate and draft contracts, amendments, and various legal documents.

• Provide prompt legal counsel to executives regarding agreements between Ryan entities and trading partners.

• Ensure adherence to the Company’s market security protocols.

• Advise business units on contractual terms.

• Research and assess risk factors associated with business decisions and operations.

• Implement risk management strategies and proactively offer guidance on possible legal issues.

• Communicate and negotiate with external stakeholders.

• Manage complex issues that involve multiple parties.

• Foster productive relationships and assist in resolving legal matters.

• Apply company policies and procedures to agreements with trading partners.

• Collaborate with experienced team members.

• Develop proficiency in open brokerage and binding authority agreements, including Delegated Underwriting Authority agreements with Lloyd’s of London.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree with two years of relevant experience; or equivalent professional experience.

• License to practice law in at least one state.

• Strong legal research skills pertaining to contract terms and principles of contract interpretation.

• Knowledge or capability to gain expertise in open brokerage and binding authority agreements.

• Knowledge or capability to develop expertise in Delegated Underwriting Authority agreements with Lloyd’s of London.

• Proficiency in negotiating and drafting contracts, amendments, and legal documents.

• Ability to provide advice to executives and business units regarding contract terms and legal matters.

• Capability to research and assess legal and operational risk factors.

• Skill in applying risk management techniques.

• Competence in communicating and negotiating with external parties.

• Ability to manage complex matters involving multiple stakeholders.
