This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary liaison for the 1001 team with individuals exploring a call to initiate a new worshiping community or those in its early phases.
• Lead and implement 1001 Leadership Assessments in collaboration with mid councils, seminaries, and other partners.
• Provide education to mid councils on the essential qualities and competencies required for leadership in new worshiping communities.
• Collaborate and consult with mid councils to cultivate leadership qualities and competencies.
• Create opportunities for vocational discernment and connect individuals to 1001 new worshiping communities.
• Facilitate consultations and coaching for prospective leaders of new worshiping communities.
• Develop and refresh resources aimed at establishing and sustaining new worshiping communities.
• Convey the vision of 1001 New Worshiping Communities and Presbyterian Life & Witness to mid councils, congregations, and constituency groups.
• Engage regularly in the evaluation of the 1001 New Worshiping Communities program.
• Prepare and assess reports and records, adjusting methods as necessary to meet objectives.
• Collaborate both internally and externally to educate and disseminate programmatic information.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; master’s degree is preferred.
• 4–7 years of progressively responsible experience in related program areas.
• At least 4 years of experience leading a new worshiping community or providing substantial support to one.
• Familiarity with 1001’s Discerning Missional Leadership assessment is required.
• Previous experience as a contracted assessor is strongly preferred.
• Certification or knowledge of inventories utilized in 1001 assessment programs (such as Clifton Strengths, TKI, etc.) is beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant software.
• Knowledge of Canva, Jotform, and Basecamp or similar project management tools is advantageous.
• Understanding of the PC(USA) and its organizational structure is essential.
• Proficiency in one or more languages besides English is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with the history and initiatives of the 1001 New Worshiping Communities office is preferred.
• Knowledge of current thought leadership in church planting and leadership development is a plus.
• Capable of communicating via telephone, Zoom, and other digital platforms.
• Ability to read and comprehend written materials effectively.
• Skilled at communicating in a manner appropriate for a church office setting.
• Willingness to travel overnight and out of town regularly, typically on a monthly basis.
