Associate, Health System Contracting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in the formulation and implementation of market-level contracting strategies aimed at enhancing network adequacy, fostering growth, ensuring affordability, and improving member experience.

• Evaluate provider economics, reimbursement structures, utilization rates, competitive landscapes, and contract performance metrics.

• Convert intricate financial and operational analyses into actionable recommendations for negotiation strategies and contracting decisions.

• Prepare for and engage in negotiations with hospitals and healthcare systems, focusing on reimbursement rate models, contract positions, presentation materials, and scenario analyses.

• Negotiate and oversee contracts with designated healthcare providers under the guidance of senior team members.

• Assess current provider agreements to uncover financial, operational, and contractual enhancement opportunities.

• Coordinate cross-functional contracting workflows from analysis to negotiation, execution, and implementation.

• Enhance contracting tools, policies, workflows, and performance reporting mechanisms.

• Supervise assigned networks for compliance and create corrective action plans as necessary.

• Adhere to relevant laws and regulations.

• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.

• Report directly to the Manager of Network Contracting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare client management, healthcare consulting, strategy and operations, healthcare contracting, healthcare finance, payer or provider operations, or a related analytical field.

• At least 2 years of experience in supporting analytical or strategic workstreams and crafting recommendations for senior stakeholders.

• Over 1 year of experience in analyzing complex financial or operational data and translating insights into actionable business recommendations.

• More than 1 year of experience in navigating and organizing extensive data sets such as hospital price transparency reimbursement, claims files, and provider rosters.

• Experience in supporting negotiations, commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, or other intricate, cross-functional initiatives.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with SQL or other analytical tools is a plus.

• Candidates must reside in Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.
