Associate Faculty – DNP Project Chair, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in alignment with the learning objectives and course outlines of the University of Phoenix.

• Present course materials, learning activities, and assessments using up-to-date resources.

• Offer additional insights that link course theories to practical applications in the real world.

• Ensure timely availability of class materials to facilitate student engagement and discussions.

• Maintain an active presence in the classroom and promptly address student questions.

• Foster a nurturing learning atmosphere and tackle academic challenges faced by students.

• Provide coaching, tutoring, and identify further resources to enhance student understanding.

• Supervise student clinical, practicum, and mentorship experiences as necessary.

• Participate in faculty meetings and university events, including General Faculty Meetings, Content Area Meetings, and student graduation ceremonies.

• Keep up-to-date with course revisions, instructional standards, and essential faculty information.

• Enhance professional and technical expertise through practice, certification/licensure, conferences, publications, networking, and involvement in professional organizations.

• Teach and fulfill necessary responsibilities in an online format.

• Stay informed about university technology and adjust to technological advancements.

• Execute other responsibilities as assigned or needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate in Nursing (DNP, DNS, PhD), which includes successful completion of a dissertation or culminating project.

• Three graduate semester credits in Research Methodology and/or Evidence-Based Practice and/or Quality Improvement or an equivalent qualification.

• Professional experience in a leadership or managerial role.

• A minimum of three years of experience in doctoral-level nursing practice.

• Degree obtained from a regionally accredited institution.

• An active, unencumbered, or unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of residence or practice, or a multistate RN license.

• One to three years of direct involvement with DNP students; experience as a preceptor or mentor is acceptable.

• Background in doctoral-level healthcare practice, including administration, clinical, informatics, or consulting, following the attainment of a doctoral degree.

• Engaged in doctoral-level nursing practice, doctoral-level project leadership, or completed a doctoral-level project through earning a Doctor of Nursing degree within the past ten years.

• Maintain one record of scholarship annually within a rolling one-year period, in accordance with UOPX’s definition of scholarship engagement.

• Knowledge of adult education teaching and learning theories.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite programs.

• Capability to present a professional image and represent the University in a suitable manner.
