Associate Director, Tax Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee critical components of Kyndryl's quarterly and annual global income tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740

• Aggregate global tax outcomes and prepare supporting analyses

• Collaborate with regional tax managers to ensure accurate reporting of non-US tax positions

• Evaluate and scrutinize tax provision calculations, workpapers, and deliverables from outsourced service providers

• Prepare and examine tax account reconciliations along with supporting documentation

• Investigate quarterly and annual effective tax rates, focusing on significant drivers and trends

• Assist in cash tax forecasts and associated reconciliations

• Prepare and review ASC 740 disclosures for Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings materials, and other external reporting

• Work in conjunction with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and External Reporting teams to address tax implications

• Aid in accounting and reporting for valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, transfer pricing, restructurings, acquisitions, and divestitures

• Oversee tax-related journal entries and their timely delivery

• Collaborate with external auditors regarding audit requests, technical discussions, and review processes

• Cultivate relationships within Kyndryl's global tax organization while supporting regional teams and finance stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is mandatory

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in a Big 4 firm and/or an in-house tax department

• Proven strong experience in tax accounting

• Familiarity with ASC 740 and US multinational operations is essential

• Occasional travel to the NYC office may be necessary for meetings

• CPA, MST, or LLM designation is preferred

• People management experience is not a prerequisite

• Significant experience collaborating with external advisors
