Associate Director, Tax Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee essential components of Kyndryl's global income tax provision process on a quarterly and annual basis in accordance with ASC 740.

• Aggregate worldwide tax results and develop supporting analyses.

• Collaborate with regional tax managers on non-US tax matters, current and deferred tax accounts, uncertain tax positions, and jurisdiction-specific issues.

• Evaluate calculations, workpapers, and deliverables from outsourced service providers regarding tax provisions.

• Prepare and review reconciliations and documentation for tax accounts.

• Examine effective tax rates on a quarterly and annual basis, identifying significant drivers and trends.

• Assist with cash tax forecasts and related reconciliations.

• Prepare and review ASC 740 disclosures for Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings materials, and other forms of external reporting.

• Work closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and External Reporting teams to address tax implications.

• Aid in accounting and reporting for valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, transfer pricing, restructurings, acquisitions, and divestitures.

• Oversee tax-related journal entries and the presentation of financial statements.

• Coordinate with external auditors regarding audit requests, technical discussions, and review procedures.

• Foster relationships within Kyndryl's global tax organization while supporting regional teams and finance stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is mandatory.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in a Big 4 firm and/or an in-house tax department.

• Proven expertise in tax accounting is essential.

• Experience with ASC 740 and operations of US multinational corporations is required.

• Occasional travel to the Rye Brook, NY office may be necessary for meetings.

• A CPA, MST, or LLM designation is preferred.

• Prior people management experience is not required.
