Associate Director, Strategic Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee Vera’s Long Range Planning (LRP) process and establish long-term strategic and financial goals.

• Engage in regular discussions with cross-functional partners to ensure models are current.

• Assist in forming capital strategies, managing investor relations, and overseeing equity, debt, and alternative financing efforts.

• Support engagement with Wall Street analysts.

• Create materials for investor relations events, such as earnings releases, business updates, investor meetings, and curtain raisers.

• Conduct market research and consolidate insights to align with corporate objectives.

• Collaborate with Finance & Accounting leadership on cash runway assessments, budget and headcount planning, and cost-effectiveness initiatives.

• Organize and oversee special projects essential for Vera’s long-term success.

• Foster productive relationships throughout the organization to enhance LRP refinement, clinical and commercial development, and execution of long-term strategies.

• Report directly to the VP of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in biotech and/or corporate finance.

• Bachelor's degree and/or MBA.

• Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives to fulfill long-term corporate vision and enhance value.

• Exceptional financial, strategic planning, and business planning capabilities, with the ability to independently create comprehensive long-term financial models.

• Strong understanding of valuation and financial principles (valuation methods, capital structure dynamics, etc.).

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience delivering presentations to executives.

• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

• High energy level, with a proactive "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude.

• Strong organizational abilities, with a capacity to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Experience in leading change, demonstrating the ability to achieve results and meet deadlines and commitments.

• Willingness to travel up to approximately 20% based on company needs.
