This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Oversee the SEO and GEO content strategy for a range of medium to large accounts.
• Align client goals, audience requirements, competitive advantages, and performance metrics with measurable priorities.
• Utilize keyword and prompt research, citation analysis, audience insights, and competitive data to enhance visibility and authority across both traditional and generative search.
• Create content strategies, roadmaps, briefs, outlines, and actionable recommendations.
• Write, edit, and optimize content as necessary, guiding the process from ideation to final quality assurance.
• Implement AI tools in research, briefing, drafting, editing, and quality assurance while ensuring human oversight is maintained.
• Supervise and mentor Content Strategists.
• Enhance frameworks, workflows, templates, and editorial standards to facilitate scalable content production.
• Collaborate with teams in technical SEO, analytics, design, development, digital PR, paid media, project management, and account management.
• Identify opportunities for account expansion and assist in pitches, proposals, scopes, staffing plans, and capabilities presentations.
• Keep abreast of developments in search, AI platforms, content discovery, and audience behavior, translating these insights into actionable recommendations for clients and teams.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in content strategy, SEO, digital content, editorial strategy, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading intricate content programs across multiple medium to large client accounts, ideally within an agency setting.
• Proficiency in developing content strategies that integrate search demand, audience needs, brand positioning, and business objectives.
• In-depth understanding of SEO fundamentals, including search intent, keyword research, content architecture, internal linking, on-page optimization, and analysis of organic performance.
• Familiarity with GEO, generative search platforms, AI citations, prompt tracking, answer visibility, and overarching content strategy.
• Experience in managing, mentoring, or nurturing content strategists, writers, and editors.
• Strong communication skills at an executive level.
• Capability to evaluate account performance and pinpoint strategic risks and opportunities.
• Keen editorial judgment concerning quality, usefulness, accuracy, search intent, brand alignment, and strategic value.
• Experience collaborating with SEO, analytics, account management, project management, design, development, and digital PR teams.
• Commercial insight and experience in identifying opportunities for account growth, contributing to scopes, or aiding in new-business development.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills across various accounts and workstreams.
• Ability to navigate through ambiguity as platforms, tools, and measurement standards evolve.
• A sense of curiosity, adaptability, and a readiness to challenge conventional thinking.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.; DEPT® participates in E-Verify.
• 30 hours per week dedicated to this project.
