Principal Technical SEO Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Co-manage the overarching technical SEO strategy, roadmap, and standards across the Gaming portfolio while providing support to the Sports portfolio.

• Identify and prioritize technical SEO opportunities and risks that offer the most significant organic and commercial benefits.

• Lead in-depth investigations related to crawling, rendering, indexation, architecture, internal linking, international SEO, migrations, structured data, and web performance.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on architecture, major releases, migrations, and experimentation.

• Develop automated monitoring, diagnostics, and early-warning systems to address critical technical issues.

• Create internal tools and AI-powered workflows for analysis, quality assurance, prioritization, and execution.

• Establish reusable technical patterns, guidelines, and frameworks across the portfolio.

• Enhance technical capabilities through coaching, documentation, and shared tools.

• Provide leadership through expertise while working alongside senior specialists and leaders in SEO, Product, Engineering, and Analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading complex technical SEO projects across large websites or multi-domain portfolios, demonstrating measurable organic or commercial results.

• Deep expertise in crawling, rendering, indexation, architecture, internal linking, canonicalization, international SEO, migrations, structured data, JavaScript SEO, log-file analysis, and web performance.

• Capability to translate intricate technical insights into priorities based on expected value, risk, effort, confidence, and opportunity cost.

• Ability to link technical decisions to organic and commercial outcomes effectively.

• Experience in influencing Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders without direct authority.

• Proficient in communicating intricate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Intellectually curious, technically self-reliant, and comfortable remaining deeply engaged.

• Skillful in creating systems, standards, and capabilities that enhance team impact beyond individual contributions.
