This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Initiate and take ownership of a new authoritative content platform on the primary domain
• Develop information architecture, topic clusters, editorial guidelines, internal linking strategies, and a publishing schedule
• Create and oversee content related to certifications, materials, sourcing, sleep science, buying guides, and impact initiatives
• Collaborate with brand marketing to establish a unified topic map
• Manage copy for product detail pages, category pages, comparison modules, and landing pages
• Write navigation labels, calls-to-action, FAQs, tooltips, and in-page educational content
• Conduct ongoing page optimization
• Partner with the design and UX teams
• Lead organic search strategies, encompassing keyword research, essential technical SEO practices, and content architecture
• Ensure visibility in AI-generated responses using Profound and Semrush
• Provide reports on organic traffic, organic revenue, and AI citation share
• Transform product specifications into compelling reasons to purchase
• Create messaging for certification, sustainability, and B Corp initiatives aimed at search engines, journalists, PR, audio, and television
• Manage the substantiation process for materials, certifications, and sustainability claims
• Utilize AI tools to enhance efficiency and quality while upholding editorial standards
• Build and oversee a freelance writing team
• Report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and work collaboratively with design/UX, studio, brand marketing, and sourcing/certifications teams
• At least 5 years of experience in content, SEO, or copywriting, preferably for DTC or e-commerce brands
• Outstanding writing skills across technical content, product page optimization, and brand messaging
• Ability to write in accordance with an established brand voice
• Proven track record of high-quality work within a content program
• Sound judgment to determine priorities and work independently
• Working knowledge of buying psychology, objection management, and high-consideration purchases
• Familiarity with AI tools and workflows for research, briefing, brand voice consistency, and quality assurance
• Commitment to factual accuracy and substantiation of claims
• Comfort in reporting work metrics focusing on revenue instead of just pageviews
• Enthusiasm for healthy living, environmental consciousness, and social responsibility
• Some in-house or brand-side experience in addition to agency experience
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
• Consistent and dependable attendance
• Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings, offsite gatherings, and company events
