Associate Director – Life Science Advisory, US Market Access

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute pricing and access strategies for pharmaceutical assets.

• Collaborate with senior personnel to create project proposals.

• Lead consulting teams in the formulation and delivery of client outputs.

• Sustain client relationships.

• Manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Supervise the creation and evaluation of project deliverables to ensure strategic alignment, suitable methodologies, and adherence to client standards.

• Facilitate client presentations and oversee client interactions.

• Assist in business development and the project sales process.

• Oversee personnel management, including performance evaluations of direct reports.

• Handle project budgets, timelines, and staffing requirements.

• Develop market access strategies at both corporate and product levels throughout product development phases.

• Design and oversee qualitative and quantitative projects related to pharmaceutical market access and pricing strategies.

• Supervise the development of materials and facilitate discussions.

• Create and conduct primary interviews with payers and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

• Build Excel-based financial models for pricing-access scenarios and recommendations.

• Conduct economic analyses across various care settings and financial ecosystems.

• Present actionable insights and recommendations to executive-level audiences.

• Mentor and develop junior consulting staff.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; preferred majors include science, biomedical engineering, business, or healthcare policy.

• 6+ years of relevant consulting or experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical sectors, particularly in market access, reimbursement, pricing, health economics, forecasting, and/or pipeline strategy.

• 3+ years of direct experience in client management and content delivery roles.

• Proven skills in project management, initiative, resourcefulness, leadership, and both strategic and creative thinking.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey clinical and business implications of complex products and services.

• Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and teams of experienced consultants, including managers and consultants.

• In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, encompassing drug development and market launch.

• Experience in developing, designing, and executing both qualitative and quantitative market research.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Strong market research abilities.

• Extensive experience with Part A / hospital inpatient pricing and reimbursement, Part B / medical benefit pricing, Part D / contracting, and gross-to-net calculations.

• Thorough understanding of health economic methodologies and value pricing models.

• Familiarity with current pricing and access regulations and proposed pricing policies.

• Proven history of thought leadership, whether written or through public speaking.

• Advanced degree such as an MBA, MPH, MS, or PhD is preferred.
