Associate Director, Clinical Data Management

📋 Description

• Supervise management teams to ensure adherence to SOPs for assigned projects while providing oversight for teams, projects, and budgets.

• Assist in the development and execution of departmental initiatives.

• Offer leadership, managerial, and technical expertise to the Data Management department.

• Ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of Data Management deliverables.

• Guarantee that departmental operations comply with relevant regulations, GCP, Worldwide SOPs, guidelines, and sponsor requirements.

• Provide line management for designated management teams.

• Establish and track objectives for assigned Managers, ensuring opportunities for career and personal development.

• Contribute to the strategic management of the department.

• Oversee resource allocation for assigned teams through proactive and strategic assignments.

• Manage departmental quality and issue resolution by identifying trends and initiating strategic solutions.

• Handle departmental project deliverables, review project status, and create mitigation plans.

• Monitor and manage project profitability and budget variances for departmental projects.

• Supervise Subject Matter Experts to ensure effective process oversight.

• Represent the department to both internal and external stakeholders regarding strategic planning, oversight, risks, and mitigations.

• Develop and implement departmental SOPs.

• Lead initiatives for departmental process improvement and efficiency.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in biomedical sciences, life sciences, computer science, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience.

• At least 12 years of experience in clinical data management or a related position within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device sectors.

• 6–8 years of experience in line management.

• Expert knowledge of data management best practices and technologies as they pertain to clinical trials.

• Advanced understanding of clinical trial processes and protocol documents, including protocols, statistical analysis plans, CRFs, and study reports.

• Strong project management skills with experience in managing data management teams and projects for operational and budget oversight.

• Significant experience in line management, including recruitment, career development, and performance evaluations.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with cross-functional internal and external teams.

• Expert analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
