This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Develop and implement a strategic vision for experiential education across simulation, laboratory, and clinical learning environments.
• Establish uniform standards for experiential education across various regions, campuses, programs, and modalities.
• Drive innovation in experiential pedagogy, simulation, and educational methodologies.
• Integrate experiential learning throughout the nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with program competencies and the AACN Essentials.
• Lead and manage experiential education leaders across four different regions.
• Supervise and evaluate Regional Assistant Deans, the Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning for Simulation and Lab, and the Assistant Director of Experiential Labs and Simulation.
• Facilitate faculty development in simulation, laboratory, and clinical teaching methodologies.
• Anticipate staffing and resource requirements based on enrollment growth and program expansion.
• Ensure the efficient operation of the Simulation Center and experiential learning environments.
• Oversee the master scheduling for simulation and learning laboratories.
• Maintain oversight of equipment inventory, preventive maintenance, calibration, replacement planning, and capital needs.
• Support the adoption of emerging technologies and innovative approaches to experiential learning.
• Provide strategic guidance for CCNE, ACEN, state board, SSH, and INACSL accreditation and compliance processes.
• Monitor state regulations regarding the use of simulation in lieu of clinical hours.
• Maintain policies and procedures for scenario design, faculty qualifications, debriefing, evaluation, and confidentiality.
• Oversee the experiential learning evidence base required for accreditation and state approval.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing experiential learning and student outcome data.
• Manage the experiential education operating budget, resource allocation, space planning, and capital investments.
• Establish systems that promote quality and consistency across regions and delivery modalities.
• Report experiential education data to the Dean of Nursing and Associate Dean of Nursing and Compliance.
• Identify operational challenges and devise sustainable, data-informed solutions.
• Cultivate relationships with healthcare organizations, clinical agencies, and community partners.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and represent Joyce University in national forums and professional organizations.
• Conduct visits to clinical, simulation, and laboratory environments to assess their effectiveness and alignment with learning objectives.
• Engage in accreditation processes, reporting, and University initiatives.
• An active, unencumbered RN license (either state or compact license).
• A doctoral degree is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in nursing education, with progressive leadership roles.
• Proven experience in leading academic teams and developing faculty members.
• A strong understanding of experiential learning, nursing education, and maintaining academic program quality.
• Familiarity with accreditation, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, relationship-building, and decision-making abilities.
• Capability to lead strategically while translating vision into effective operational practices.
• Preferred: certification in simulation education, such as CHSE or CHSOS.
• Preferred: experience with emerging technologies, including VR/AR in simulation.
• Preferred: demonstrated success in faculty mentorship, program evaluation, and grant writing.
• Preferred: experience with SSH simulation program accreditation and INACSL endorsement.
• Preferred: experience managing experiential education across multiple states, regions, campuses, or delivery modalities.
• Preferred: experience supervising academic leaders.
• Preferred: experience with simulation scheduling, inventory, and evaluation systems.
