Associate Dean – Construction Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Recruit, hire, orient, and train faculty members.

• Ensure that the assigned faculty possess the necessary teaching credentials.

• Conduct evaluations of faculty and oversee their instructional performance and adherence to university policies.

• Communicate academic standards and facilitate faculty development training across the system.

• Ensure the integrity of the curriculum through performance-based learning approaches.

• Maintain a quarterly instructional contribution by teaching 4.5 credits or by updating and developing courses.

• Lead program reviews, accreditation self-studies, and meetings for the CAP committee.

• Create data-driven methods to assess student outcomes.

• Coordinate Program Advisory Councils and enhance stakeholder connections for internships and course relevance.

• Manage schedules for online courses, recommend textbooks, and oversee library resources.

• Participate in assigned university committees.

• Monitor interactions between students and faculty, addressing concerns to uphold high retention rates.

• Coordinate and resolve student academic or grade grievances per university protocols.

• Facilitate processes that support effective job placement and career awareness.

• Provide direct supervision to faculty members.

• Report to the assigned Dean.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in the relevant field or teaching area is required.

• An earned doctorate is preferred.

• At least 3 years of professional experience in curriculum development or program oversight.

• A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

• Experience in online teaching and course development is preferred.

• Relevant industry certifications in the field are preferred.

• Strong skills in strategic leadership, management, and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with instructional design, curriculum development, and NAU curricula is necessary.

• A commitment to student-centered practices and the ability to mentor faculty and staff.

• Active participation in local, regional, and national professional organizations.

• Flexibility in availability for day, evening, and weekend hours.

• Proficiency in exchanging accurate information during synchronous video meetings and asynchronous digital correspondence.

• Capability to navigate complex software, Learning Management Systems, and online databases for extended periods.

• Ability to review and assess academic content and data across various digital formats.

• Access to a private, quiet workspace equipped with reliable high-speed internet.

• Capacity to move within an office environment or during travel, including the transport of materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
