This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Gather and validate information essential for underwriting new business cases.
• Deliver customer service and assistance to agents and underwriters via phone and email.
• Address inquiries, acquire underwriting requirements, follow up on outstanding offers, compile documents, and liaise with reinsurers.
• Update claims and/or underwriting workflow systems while ensuring the accuracy of input data.
• Keep records of customer interactions and transactions.
• Assess forms and policy documents for completeness, approval, and release.
• Organize and process exam-only and informal inquiry files.
• Secure authorizations, research physicians, affiliates, and addresses, request reports, receive APS and physician responses, and coordinate reimbursements.
• Prepare and manage reinstatement, exchange, full-term conversion, and reissue paperwork.
• Issue annuity contracts and life policies; prepare amendments and collect initial premiums.
• Handle incoming mail, faxes, medical releases, inactive cases, and policies not taken.
• Stay informed about underwriting programs, replacement procedures, claims, new business, company policies, and state regulations.
• For the Case Manager role: establish and maintain vendor relationships, reconcile vendor invoices, process complex term conversions, assist with initial claims forms and reports, mentor colleagues, and provide feedback to management.
• Contribute to business growth and process policies.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience is required.
• Customer Service experience is mandatory.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.
• For the Case Manager position, experience in a life insurance or closely related environment is required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong data entry skills are required.
• Capability to learn and adhere to applicable regulations and company policies is needed.
• Ability to perform tasks accurately and thoroughly is crucial.
• Attention to detail is required.
• Skill in prioritizing and organizing a demanding workload is necessary.
• A proactive “can-do” attitude is essential, demonstrating initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, and reliability.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required for the Associate Case Manager role.
• An Associate degree in business or a related field is necessary for the Case Manager position.

• Candidates must be located in the Greater Houston or Greater Binghamton area.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
• Experience in the life insurance industry is preferred.
• Industry-recognized certifications are preferred.
