Associate Attorney – High-Volume Civil Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Evaluate court publications, input deadlines into the system, assess complex cases, generate reports, request client actions, and adhere to deadlines.

• Compose complaints, including those related to collection proceedings, enforcement actions, and debt collection claims.

• Draft defenses, counterclaims, and both simple and complex motions, including appeals in Small Claims Court, appellate briefs, motions for clarification, Special Appeals to the Superior Court of Justice (RESP), Extraordinary Appeals to the Federal Supreme Court (REXT), internal interlocutory appeals, and interlocutory appeals in RESP and REXT cases.

• Manage banking and high-volume litigation cases for both plaintiffs and defendants.

• Oversee enforcement actions, defenses against enforcement, collection proceedings, debt collection claims, lease renewal actions, rent review actions, other review actions, damages claims, declaratory actions, accounting actions, and preliminary injunction proceedings.

• Guide cases through the trial, judgment enforcement, and judgment liquidation phases.

• Address client inquiries via the internal system and email communications.

• Manage client requests submitted through spreadsheets.

• Handle complex cases and urgent client requests effectively.

• Input case-related information into the firm's case management system.

• Analyze cases that may qualify for a waiver of appeal.

• Request adherence to obligations for action and payment.

• Solicit supporting information and documentation as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three years of active registration with the São Paulo Bar Association (OAB-SP); registration from other states is not acceptable.

• Experience working in law firms, ideally in high-volume litigation environments.

• Proven experience in drafting defenses and appeals.

• Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and the Internet.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Small Claims Court procedures.

• Current understanding of Brazil's 2015 Code of Civil Procedure.

• Capability to manage a significant volume of daily analyses.

• Strong commitment and reliability.

• Familiarity with banking litigation and consumer law will be regarded as an advantage.
