Assistant Vice President – Building Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Analyze the effects of disasters such as floods, fires, or storms on buildings and the environment.

• Evaluate risks, vulnerabilities, and potential damages to establish preventive strategies.

• Reduce damage during emergencies through resource deployment, evacuation coordination, and protection of essential infrastructure.

• Supervise daily operations at project sites.

• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality benchmarks, and overall progress.

• Efficiently distribute labor, materials, and equipment.

• Manage teams, schedules, and resolve project challenges.

• Liaise with clients and project stakeholders, including adjusters, brokers, and insured parties.

• Organize and conduct field inspections and site visits to assess work scope and damage.

• Estimate medium to large commercial and residential projects utilizing Xactimate.

• Document, review, and analyze schedules, contracts, change orders, correspondence, reports, meeting notes, and other project-related documents.

• Provide technical guidance to other consultants and assist with their files.

• Collaborate with Business Development Managers to enhance new business opportunities and reinforce existing client relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in estimating.

• Professional experience in the restoration, insurance, and remediation sectors, particularly with estimating large commercial complex losses.

• Bachelor's or associate degree from an accredited institution; or 5-10 years of demonstrable experience and achievements in the restoration industry as an alternative to a degree.

• Relevant experience in restoration and/or restoration contracting with a focus on collaboration with insurance companies, including scheduling, project management, and estimating.

• Proficiency in Xactimate, Symbility, RS Means, or other estimating software.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a capacity to produce high-quality expert reports.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Solid project management, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.

• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

• Strong work ethic and leadership qualities.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Capability to wear personal protective equipment as dictated by the work environment.

• Physical ability to perform inspections and handle inspection equipment.

• Ability to ascend ladders to access elevated areas or roofs.

• Skill in drafting reports of findings, which constitutes 50% of daily responsibilities.

• Availability for on-call duties, including weekends or nights as necessary.

• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and for catastrophe response as required.
