This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Work remotely from Florida in partnership with the Manager of School Counseling and the School Leadership Team.
• Provide virtual support to students and parents/learning coaches regarding course selection and scheduling.
• Act as the first point of contact for student concerns across various subjects and non-academic matters.
• Develop counseling processes tailored for middle and high school students.
• Guide students and families on academic matters, career planning, graduation, course modifications, and scheduling.
• Relay high school graduation requirements to the High School Coordinator and principal.
• Assist with the selection of secondary courses and the formulation of four-year graduation plans.
• Review student transcripts and ensure the accuracy of online transcript records.
• Obtain and transmit student records in collaboration with administrative assistants.
• Execute programs that address interpersonal adjustment challenges.
• Aid families in accessing school and community resources.
• Engage in crisis prevention and management planning, serving on the Student Support Team.
• Collaborate with middle and high school educators to identify at-risk or in-crisis students.
• Serve as the primary contact for at-risk or in-crisis students and their families.
• Oversee the Personal Learning Plans for each student.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of student records.
• Facilitate the school withdrawal process and the collection of withdrawal data.
• Report and refer critical incidents while maintaining awareness of state reporting regulations.
• Assist teachers with mid-semester enrollments and integration into coursework.
• Work with the Curriculum Team to verify that offerings comply with state requirements.
• Implement programs for SAT, ACT, and college entrance support.
• Aid in understanding high school testing, including CLT, PSAT, SAT, and ACT.
• Assist students in researching post-secondary career and educational options.
• Support the college and job application processes.
• Educate students and parents on college admissions criteria and financial aid.
• Foster professional development initiatives.
• Participate in high school graduation ceremonies.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• At least 5 years of experience in school counseling and management/leadership.
• Possession of Florida Professional Teacher Certification in School Counseling.
• Strong understanding of Florida graduation standards and school accountability frameworks.
• Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• A customer-oriented mindset.
• High level of flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic virtual environment.
• Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere.
• Ability to manage and lead a remote team.
• Travel across the state is required for state testing administration, which may involve overnight stays.
• Availability to work occasional evening hours as necessary.
• Must be equipped to use a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication.
• ESOL Endorsement or Certification is preferred.
