Assistant Manager, Review

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive review process, from the submission of manuscripts to the final editorial decision.

• Lead and mentor a team of Review Editors, cultivating a high-performance and collaborative work culture.

• Offer training, constructive feedback, and performance monitoring to ensure team success and foster publication growth.

• Track key performance indicators, such as time to first decision, reviewer turnaround, and acceptance rates.

• Identify obstacles and implement process enhancements, automation, and best practices to improve efficiency.

• Formulate strategies to boost reviewer engagement, retention, and turnaround times.

• Collaborate closely with Editorial, Production, and Content teams to guarantee a seamless publication process.

• Investigate and apply AI and automation tools to improve review efficiency and quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Life Science.

• Over 5 years of experience in academic/scientific publishing, with extensive knowledge of review workflows.

• Demonstrated experience in managing review teams and adhering to publishing deadlines.

• Solid understanding of single-blind, double-blind, and open review models, as well as open access publishing.

• Practical experience with manuscript management systems; Editorial Manager is preferred.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Strong communication skills with the capability to synthesize complex scientific feedback.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to excel in a fast-paced, global setting.
