Assistant Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the general ledger, consolidations, accounts payable, payroll, and intercompany cross-charges for both domestic and international entities.

• Develop and establish scalable accounting policies, processes, and controls.

• Collaborate with the Controller to enhance ERP, procurement, travel and expense tools, and systems, with a focus on automation and AI-driven efficiencies.

• Direct month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.

• Manage accounting for international operations and assist with global tax issues.

• Facilitate external audits and fulfill investor reporting obligations.

• Create dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time financial insights to leadership.

• Mentor and develop members of the accounting team.

• Remain updated on emerging accounting technologies, AI tools, and best practices in process automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA (or equivalent) certification.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive accounting and leadership experience, combining Big 4 and in-house roles in high-growth B2C or technology firms, along with experience in companies of scale.

• In-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP.

• Extensive experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, as well as managing international taxes and regulations.

• Experience in optimizing the technology stack by integrating related tools.

• Demonstrated capability to enhance processes and utilize automation tools (e.g., AI reconciliation, OCR invoice processing, automated close solutions).

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

• Comprehensive knowledge of ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and revenue recognition software.

• Proven leadership and project management abilities, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and implementing systems that enable scalable growth.
