Controller, NetSuite

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the accounting department as a hands-on role, managing GL, AP/AR, invoicing, collections, payroll accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliations.

• Take full responsibility for the monthly and annual close processes, financial statements, and ensure the accuracy of reporting.

• Act as the primary in-house accounting specialist for NetSuite, managing daily operations, troubleshooting, configurations, reporting, and workflow enhancements.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards, overseeing deferred revenue and prepaid expenses related to software subscriptions and service engagements.

• Collaborate with external auditors and maintain necessary schedules, controls, and documentation.

• Guide outsourced implementation partners during the transition of acquired businesses into NetSuite; manage requirements and validate outcomes.

• Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and reporting as the company's capabilities evolve.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Around 5–7 years or more of progressive experience in accounting.

• Significant personal accountability for the closing process and the associated accounting tasks.

• Practical experience with NetSuite and the ability to manage its accounting functionalities independently without extensive training.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliation processes, deferred revenue, and proficiency in Excel.

• Eagerness to personally manage daily accounting tasks while enhancing the overall function.

• Experience in CPA/public accounting, software or service sectors, ERP migrations, and FP&A is advantageous.

• Expertise in ASC 606 policy and previous FP&A responsibilities can be developed with support from the CFO.
