Business Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee the annual budgeting process along with monthly and quarterly forecasting activities, which include driver assumptions, scenario modeling, and P&L forecasting.

• Develop and sustain revenue and recurring-revenue models that encompass subscription, maintenance, licensing, and services.

• Monitor key metrics such as ARR, retention, churn, bookings, and pipeline conversion.

• Provide analysis of financial performance and variances against budget, forecasts, and previous year results.

• Recognize crucial business drivers, risks, and opportunities.

• Collaborate with commercial and operational leaders regarding pricing strategies, deal structuring, headcount, investments, and profitability decisions.

• Deliver financial models and business case analyses.

• Create executive reports and dashboards for senior leadership review.

• Work alongside the Accounting team during month-end closing, revenue assessment, accruals, and ensuring the accuracy of management reporting.

• Utilize Oracle Fusion, SQL, and Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.

• Enhance and automate recurring planning and reporting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, or a similar finance role.

• Experience preferred in an international organization.

• Background within a software, SaaS, or recurring-revenue business is advantageous.

• Proficient understanding of ARR, retention, churn, and bookings metrics.

• Exceptional financial modeling and Excel capabilities.

• Working knowledge of SQL or demonstrated experience in querying and reconciling extensive data sets.

• Practical experience with an ERP system, ideally Oracle Fusion.

• Strong grasp of accounting and revenue recognition principles as per US GAAP or IFRS.

• Fluent in written and spoken English is essential.
