Asset Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, monitor, and facilitate the daily operations and maintenance of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS assets.

• Manage and diagnose issues with Solar PV systems, including SMA inverters, DC collection systems, tracker operations, and AC interconnections.

• Supervise the daily functioning of Tesla Megapack and LG Energy Solution BESS installations.

• Employ SCADA platforms for monitoring, diagnostics, alarms, real-time performance tracking, and operational events.

• Develop CMMS systems for managing work orders, scheduling preventive maintenance, and tracking asset performance.

• Address operational, scheduling, and market-alignment challenges and execute corrective measures.

• Initiate projects aimed at enhancing asset performance, profitability, and efficiency.

• Onboard projects that are in the execution phase for operational readiness.

• Direct third-party O&M vendors and ensure compliance with contracts.

• Establish corrective and preventive maintenance protocols.

• Manage warranty claims until resolution.

• Ensure operational adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations.

• Administer project agreements while overseeing supplier and contractor responsibilities.

• Assist with financial reporting in collaboration with finance and accounting teams.

• Prepare reports for operations, lenders, and tax equity stakeholders.

• Provide data-driven operational insights to executive leadership.

• Document and enhance operational and market participation processes.

• Collaborate with various departments and undertake special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a related technical field is preferred; degrees in business, economics, or a related discipline will also be considered.

• At least 6 years of experience in utility-scale solar PV and BESS operations and maintenance, asset management, and energy market activities.

• Highly proficient in utility-scale solar PV systems, including module technology, DC collection systems, string and central inverters, tracker systems, and AC interconnections.

• Practical experience with SMA utility-scale inverters, encompassing fault diagnostics, firmware management, and performance optimization.

• Proven experience with Tesla Megapack and/or LG Energy Solution BESS platforms, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination with OEM technical support.

• Expertise in SCADA platforms for real-time monitoring, alarm management, and performance assessment of utility-scale PV and BESS assets.

• Familiarity with CMMS platforms (Maximo, SAP PM, UpKeep, or equivalent) for work order management and preventive maintenance scheduling.

• Strong comprehension of agreements such as FA, LGIA, AMA, LTSA, OMA, SFA, and PPA.

• Knowledge of NERC compliance and reporting standards.

• Working understanding of energy market operations and asset scheduling.

• NABCEP Photovoltaic Installation Professional (PVIP) or PV Technical Sales (PVTS) certification is preferred.

• NFPA 855 awareness training or certification is preferred.

• NERC Reliability certification relevant to generation and storage operations is preferred.

• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction certification is preferred.

• Additional inverter OEM certifications are preferred.

• Experience with other BESS OEM platforms is preferred.

• Candidates must possess authorization to work in the US prior to joining; no work authorization sponsorship or assistance will be provided.
