Art Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Create and deliver innovative assets across advertising, digital, and print mediums utilizing GenAI tools.

• Convert creative briefs into refined outputs that align with project goals and visual identity.

• Participate in creative production for key projects that showcase Pencil’s product capabilities.

• Handle multiple creative requests concurrently while ensuring quality and consistency are upheld.

• Brief the Creative team and evaluate daily deliverables.

• Perform daily quality assessments on client presentations and provide feedback.

• Showcase AI creative processes to clients.

• Collaborate with Producers, the Creative Director, and Product teams to guarantee strategic alignment and technical viability.

• Offer feedback on platform and AI tools, workflows, and user experiences.

• Share ideas on GenAI storytelling and design in internal creative conversations.

• Stay updated on emerging GenAI and design technologies, sharing valuable insights.

• Identify methods and workflows that enhance speed, consistency, or creative quality.

• Enhance creative systems, templates, and processes.

• Request feedback and implement it to refine creative skills and judgment.

• Report directly to Juliette Suvitha, Head of AI Creative & Enablement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as an Art Director or in a similar role, preferably in advertising or digital production (essential).

• Practical experience with GenAI creative tools for image, video, and design creation (essential).

• Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable design software (essential).

• Comfortable presenting creative outputs directly to clients (essential).

• A keen eye for visual identity, brand consistency, and craftsmanship (essential).

• A portfolio that demonstrates creative work.

• Ability to manage various creative requests while ensuring quality and consistency are maintained.

• Capability to brief and review the work of others while continuing hands-on creative production.

• Interest in emerging GenAI tools and techniques.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Producers, the Creative Director, and Product teams.
