This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage the architectural project development for Burlington downsizes and remodels.
• Supervise directly hired architectural teams and collaborate with landlord-hired architects throughout the architectural development process until the handoff to the construction team.
• Conduct site visits with architects to evaluate existing conditions.
• Engage directly hired architects and site-adapt architects through contracts.
• Oversee the development of construction documents and ensure proper permitting.
• Examine and annotate construction documents and shop drawings.
• Maintain and update project data in Lucernex.
• Monitor and manage soft costs and invoices to adhere to budgetary constraints.
• Collaborate with internal prototype design and store innovations teams on drawing-related issues and global design modifications.
• Act as the primary point of contact across departments for project-related activities.
• Work with landlord architects, engineers, and landlords on schedules for construction documents and permitting.
• Provide assistance with scope inquiries and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Coordinate internal deliverables for the final construction documents.
• Oversee the direct-hired permitting vendor and the necessary documentation.
• Liaise with the construction team regarding bidders lists and bid packages.
• Participate in pre-bid walks and assist with site-specific drawing and field-condition inquiries.
• Help with financial forecasting, value engineering, and reduction of change orders.
• Attend project development kickoff meetings, value engineering sessions, and status calls.
• Collaborate with teams in Real Estate, Facilities, Loss Prevention, Information Technology, Construction, Store Innovation, store planning, and pre-development.
• A Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Architecture.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural and/or construction management with a prominent retail brand or design firm.
• At least 5 years of architectural experience.
• Proficient in developing architectural construction documents.
• Skilled in all Microsoft Office applications, database-type software, and project management tools such as Plangrid.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities and a talent for building trust with business partners.
• Capability to formulate, drive, and execute strategic initiatives.
• Comprehensive understanding of the retail/store planning & design/construction sectors.
• Ability to work effectively and strategically in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of MEP systems.
• Proficient in negotiating with landlords regarding scope of work and lease agreements.
