This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Assist in revenue cycle tasks associated with outstanding insurance accounts receivable, insurance denials, and appeals.
β’ Conduct follow-ups on insurance and patient billing to ensure timely and accurate payments.
β’ Execute job duties in alignment with company standards as well as state and federal regulations.
β’ Communicate with patients, hospitals, insurance providers, facilities, and attorneys to investigate claims or gather insurance details.
β’ Inquire with insurance carriers regarding the status of past-due accounts.
β’ Achieve or surpass established productivity and quality metrics.
β’ Record account activities in the claims processing system.
β’ Follow up with patients about their insurance coverage.
β’ Maintain an efficient workflow and reduce aging accounts by consistently following up on outstanding claims.
β’ Manage accounts in collections prior to referring them to an external collection agency.
β’ Complete special assignments designated by the Manager.
β’ Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve intricate accounts and escalations.
β’ Conduct quality checks on assigned claims.
β’ Comply with company attendance policies.
β’ Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
β’ An Associate's Degree is preferred.
β’ At least 2 years of experience in healthcare claims processing, billing, or accounts receivable is necessary.
β’ Hands-on experience in preparing and submitting insurance appeals, with a solid understanding of payer denial codes and timely filing limits.
β’ Familiarity with ICD-10, HCPCS, and general medical terms is essential.
β’ EMS billing experience is highly preferred; experience in other medical fields will also be considered.
β’ Proficient in using various web platforms, including billing software and payer portals.
β’ Previous customer service experience is required.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and team members.
β’ Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office are necessary.
β’ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and time-management skills are required.
β’ Strong investigative and research abilities, with a capacity to resolve complex billing challenges.
β’ Effective critical thinking and analytical skills are essential.
β’ Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
β’ Capability to manage all aspects of the job role independently, including meeting required goals and adhering to business practices in a remote setting.
β’ Must adhere to applicable laws, regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and company standards.
