• Conduct both linear and nonlinear evaluations—static and dynamic—of stress, force, vibration, material plasticity, and other related mechanical behaviors.
• Assess analysis outcomes against relevant codes, standards, regulations, and design specifications.
• Execute dynamic seismic analyses for structures, systems, and components, including interactions between soil and structures, as well as site response evaluations.
• Aid advanced reactor design and safety assessments through calculations, modeling, design documentation, peer reviews, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Work alongside diverse teams of engineers and scientists.
• Carry out thermomechanical analyses of reactor internals, focusing on high-temperature graphite and other specialized materials.
• Implement ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASCE 7, along with other mechanical and structural codes in analyses.
• Create physics-based mathematical models for mechanical, chemical, or electrical systems.
• Assist in alternatives analyses, equipment selection and sizing, summaries and evaluations of vendor equipment, specifications, drawings, and engineering design files.
• Conduct structural mechanics designs and assessments under standard operating conditions, natural hazard scenarios, and accident situations.
• Support safety evaluations by simulating anticipated accidents and assessing structural and mechanical impacts.
• Document engineering designs and analyses according to established processes and relevant codes and standards.
• Explore the nonlinear responses of nuclear facilities and systems to seismic ground motion, including advanced nonlinear site response analyses.
• Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, verification, and consultation to fellow engineers.
