Application Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and oversee the processes and activities related to software release management across various projects.

• Develop and maintain the release calendar for simultaneous projects.

• Coordinate the scope, sequencing, and dependencies of releases in collaboration with development, QA, and UAT teams.

• Facilitate release planning and conduct go/no-go meetings.

• Establish and enforce criteria for release readiness, approval gates, and rollback strategies.

• Enhance release management practices and templates to ensure consistency and scalability.

• Supervise deployments in development, testing, staging, and production environments.

• Keep detailed release notes, change logs, and performance reports following releases.

• Identify, track, mitigate, communicate, and escalate risks associated with releases.

• Oversee post-release activities and support quick resolution of issues.

• Provide insights to enhance the release lifecycle.

• Report directly to the Program Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in release management, deployment coordination, or related roles in software implementation or technology consulting.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• ITIL certification or equivalent knowledge.

• Must successfully pass a background check; additional project or client background checks may be necessary.

• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.

• Proficient in analyzing systems and procedures.

• Strong multitasking capabilities, managing multiple design streams in overlapping work efforts.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multifunctional team.

• Competence in handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

• Solid understanding of SDLC, environment management, and change control processes.

• Familiarity with platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar tools.

• Ability to manage several release schedules at once in high-pressure situations.

• Strong skills in stakeholder management and communication.

• Experience collaborating with federal or state government agencies is preferred.
