This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Act as a pre-sales technical expert for the regional sales team and address technical inquiries.
• Collaborate with the regional sales team to comprehend customer challenges and facilitate opportunity conversion.
• Provide recommendations and guidance on sales opportunities utilizing S&C's standard product offerings.
• Align products and solutions with customer specifications while identifying exceptions, clarifications, and deviations for RFIs and RFQs.
• Work together with Product Managers, Engineering, and other departments on customer inquiries.
• Attend customer meetings as a technical expert and develop and deliver technical presentations.
• Prepare proposals and technical documentation for tender submissions.
• Oversee product trials, monitor trial data, and present findings to customers.
• Assist with new product launches and rollout strategies within the region.
• Provide technical assistance to Power System Solutions for installation and commissioning planning.
• Represent S&C at industry events and aid in promotional efforts.
• Conduct factory tours and engage in Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Deliver product overviews and application presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Perform customer and market analysis and submit ideas for product development.
• Entertain customers when appropriate to strengthen relationships.
• Travel frequently, with up to 80% time spent flying and driving for sales, customer engagement, and industry events.
• Adhere to applicable company policies and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and a clean driving record.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Generally five years of experience in the electrical power industry or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems.
• Proven success in sales and application within the electrical power systems sector.
• Familiarity with medium voltage products.
• Knowledge of widely recognized electrical codes and standards.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications.
• Business acumen and analytical abilities to convert technical information into solutions, insights, and proposals.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding written, verbal, listening, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to present to diverse audiences, ranging from personal interactions to conferences.
• Interpersonal skills to build customer and collaborative relationships.
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.
• Industry knowledge of market trends and the competitive landscape.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in relevant states of the assigned region (preferred).
• Experience with CRM systems, with Salesforce being desirable (preferred).
