This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Design system and application solutions, which encompass motion architecture, system topology, and software design.
• Develop customer-specific application software and manage the entire project lifecycle from prototype to commissioning.
• Configure and commission drives (VFDs, inverters, servo systems) and create PLC/HMI programs.
• Assist in testing, start-up, and field validation of automation solutions.
• Document and standardize application knowledge into reusable tools and best practices.
• Collaborate with Sales to create solution concepts that meet customer requirements.
• Provide technical assistance during pre-sales activities, including customer meetings, workshops, and presentations.
• Help in preparing proposals and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
• Establish strong customer relationships and support sales growth targets.
• Offer advanced technical support to customers and internal teams, both remotely and on-site.
• Determine and select products and solutions according to application requirements.
• Aid in commissioning and troubleshooting during system start-up.
• Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical training to customers and internal teams.
• Create training materials, application documentation, and technical guides.
• Promote ongoing technical development within the Sales organization.
• Travel up to 25% within the region for customer support, sales efforts, and training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).
• Experience with motion control systems, PLCs, HMI programming, and industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, Ethernet-IP, RS232/485).
• Strong background in mechatronics, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Skilled in machine commissioning and developing application/machine specifications.
• Familiar with wiring diagrams and troubleshooting customer wiring issues.
• Preferred experience with Visual Basic, Windows-based software installation, and setup.
• Knowledgeable about machine safety standards and project management practices.
• Solid understanding of Windows OS and Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, MS Project).
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight trips within the region.
