This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Perform conveyor belt surveys and inspections at various customer locations, such as plants, mines, quarries, terminals, and other industrial sites.
• Examine and record the conditions of belts and conveyor systems, including specifications, construction details, covers, splices, tracking, wear, damage, components, and operational states.
• Gather field measurements and application data, including belt width, length, carcass type, cover gauges, pulley diameters, take-up configuration, troughing angle, conveyor layout, speed, and capacity.
• Assess belt performance, identify failure points, maintenance issues, abnormal wear, and opportunities for enhancing belt longevity or performance.
• Collect historical data on belt life, operating conditions, and competitive belt information.
• Inspect customer-owned belt inventories and document specifications, storage conditions, age, state, and suitability.
• Assist in warranty-claim investigations and documentation, including photographs, measurements, operational data, and product identification.
• Create survey reports that include photographs, measurements, observations, and technical details for quotes, recommendations, warranty assessments, and follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and distributors during customer visits, inspections, technical reviews, product assessments, and business development initiatives.
• Identify customer requirements and sales prospects related to replacement belts, lagging, splicing materials, conveyor accessories, field services, and similar products.
• Provide field information to technical and sales teams for belt selection, application analysis, troubleshooting, and product recommendations.
• Engage with customers, distributors, contractors, and internal staff while representing the Company.
• Document customer interactions and site findings using designated reporting tools, templates, CRM systems, and other platforms.
• Assist in training customers and distributors on product knowledge, belt selection, operation, inspection, and maintenance.
• Adhere to Company and customer safety protocols, PPE requirements, hazard assessments, lockout/tagout procedures, confined-space regulations, and site-specific guidelines.
• Travel both domestically and internationally to customer, distributor, and Company locations, typically up to 50% of working time, including overnight trips.
• Support technical investigations, field evaluations, training efforts, and analyses.
• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
• Education, training, certification, or equivalent practical experience in technical, mechanical, industrial, engineering, or maintenance fields.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment, conveyor systems, and technical applications.
• Capable of accurately inspecting, measuring, photographing, documenting, and conveying technical field information.
• Able to read and comprehend technical specifications, product details, equipment documentation, and measurement tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining timely communication and coordination with sales and technical teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, judgment, and follow-through.
• Proficient with mobile devices, digital photography, email, Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and customer relationship management systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including overnight travel, for up to 50% of working time, primarily within the United States.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport for international business travel.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and meet applicable Company driving standards.
• Ability to comply with lawful, job-related customer and Company site access requirements, which may include safety orientations, training certifications, identity verification, background checks, drug and alcohol testing, respiratory clearances, fit testing, and necessary PPE.
• Preferred: Experience in conveyor belts, conveyor systems, bulk material handling, mining, aggregates, terminals, industrial maintenance, field service, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience in conducting conveyor belt surveys or performing belt installation, splicing, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, or repairs.
• Preferred: Knowledge of conveyor belt construction, covers, carcass types, splice techniques, conveyor components, and common belt damage or failure modes.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting a sales organization, distributor network, or customer-facing technical service role.
• Preferred: Experience in identifying customer needs and communicating product or service opportunities to sales personnel.
• Preferred: Experience in preparing technical field reports, warranty documentation, inspection reports, or customer recommendations.
• Regularly navigate uneven, elevated, wet, dusty, noisy, hot, cold, or outdoor industrial environments.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and position measurement equipment.
• Ascend and descend stairs and ladders and access authorized conveyor inspection areas.
• Safely lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
• Travel by automobile and commercial aircraft and remain at customer locations for extended periods.
• Work around operating industrial equipment only when permitted by safety protocols and site authorization.
