Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable technical consultant for customers, field teams, distribution partners, and internal engineering teams.

• Facilitate the successful adoption of Altera FPGA solutions from the evaluation stage to production deployment.

• Enhance customer success and expedite design victories.

• Offer strategic technical insights on FPGA system design and implementation techniques.

• Lead the resolution of intricate technical challenges.

• Improve design performance and optimize resource utilization.

• Support advanced FPGA capabilities and high-speed interfaces.

• Drive timing closure for demanding applications.

• Serve as a vital escalation point for challenging design and tool-related issues.

• Collaborate with silicon, software, IP, and product engineering teams to provide robust, high-performance solutions.

• Ensure first-pass FPGA functionality, reliable timing closure, and successful system integration.

• Decrease resolution time for complex technical issues and foster trusted technical relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in FPGA design, ASIC design, applications engineering, or a similar area.

• Hands-on experience in developing high-density FPGA designs or ASIC designs.

• Strong expertise in Verilog and/or VHDL.

• Practical experience with FPGA design tools and methodologies.

• Knowledge of FPGA/ASIC implementation, timing analysis, timing constraints, and timing closure.

• Familiarity with simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, static timing analysis, and hardware debugging tools.

• Experience with high-speed video and system interfaces, including DisplayPort, HDMI, and MIPI.

• Knowledge of at least one high-speed interface or protocol, such as PCI Express, Ethernet, JESD204, or high-speed serial transceivers.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, sales teams, distribution partners, and cross-functional engineering groups.

• Strong skills in communication, organization, problem-solving, and issue ownership.
