This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and coordinate daily operational tasks for athenaCollector, which includes application monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
• Act as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, incidents, and application support.
• Deliver timely updates on status and maintain effective communication.
• Configure and uphold athenaCollector's administrative tables, billing settings, fee schedules, allowable schedules, contracted rates, providers, departments, insurance packages, and medical groups.
• Assist with the onboarding, offboarding, and configuration adjustments for providers and departments.
• Develop, update, test, and implement application dictionaries, tables, claim rules, billing rules, and workflow configurations.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to claims, payments, denials, remittances, unpostable items, accounts receivable, and patient balance workflows.
• Maintain accurate charge, fee, and contracted-rate information across athenaCollector and associated systems.
• Support workflows for claim submission and denial prevention.
• Coordinate the resolution of payment posting, remittance, credit balance, underpayment, zero-pay, and unapplied-credit issues with revenue cycle teams and athenahealth.
• Aid in payer enrollment, provider numbers, department, insurance package, and credentialing-related configuration matters.
• Monitor interfaces, integrations, and both inbound and outbound transactions; troubleshoot any routing or data issues.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle teams, application teams, business stakeholders, market leadership, end users, vendors, and support partners.
• Engage in application testing, release readiness, upgrades, implementations, workflow enhancements, and the adoption of standardized practices.
• Document configurations, procedures, decisions, resolutions to issues, and user guidance.
• Provide education on applications, knowledge transfer, and support for end users.
• Take part in a rotating on-call support schedule.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Strong orientation towards customer service and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing, practice management, revenue cycle, and workflows related to providers, departments, charges, claims, payments, remittances, denials, and accounts receivable.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to investigate application issues, identify root causes, coordinate resolutions, and communicate any risks or dependencies.
• Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across technical, operational, vendor, and revenue cycle teams.
• Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic healthcare setting.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on documentation and follow-through.
• Experience in supporting locally hosted or web-based business applications.
• Background in supporting healthcare billing, practice management, revenue cycle, or similar healthcare applications.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve both business and technical issues.
• Understanding of application configuration, system components, data interfaces, and integrated workflows.
• Ability to engage directly with customers, vendors, internal technology teams, and business partners.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
• Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with athenaCollector or athenaOne is preferred.
• Familiarity with provider and department configuration, fee and allowable schedules, claim rules, denial workflows, payment posting, or payer enrollment is preferred.
• Experience in supporting ambulatory operations or enterprise revenue cycle workflows within a healthcare environment is preferred.
