API Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Function as a contract team member supporting the American Petroleum Institute (API).

• Undergo further auditor training.

• Conduct Quality Management Systems audits for manufacturing and oil and natural gas service organizations.

• Execute technical audits based on product specifications, performance criteria, management systems, and contract obligations.

• Carry out audits at designated client sites.

• Travel to and from audit sites.

• Compile audit reports and documentation in English.

• Operate in diverse environments, including offices, confined spaces, and elevated locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED with required technical training.

• A post-secondary degree in a technical field is preferred.

• Minimum of four years of relevant technical/quality work experience.

• At least two years of auditing experience or two years of professional experience, or a combination of two years in auditing and professional roles.

• Experience in the oil and gas industry or similar manufacturing and/or service sectors.

• Proficient understanding of machining, heat treatment, welding, coating, and NDE.

• Ability to identify design, performance/testing, material, marking, packing, and shipping requirements from technical documentation.

• Familiarity with applicable management system standards, including API Spec Q1.

• Strong English speaking, reading, writing, and reporting skills.

• Proficiency in the local language of the audits where the auditor resides and works.

• Willingness to travel to audit locations using standard transportation methods.

• Capability to work in varying temperatures, office settings, confined spaces, and at heights.

• Ability to climb vertical ladders and construction staging of various heights.

• Competence in using small tools and wearing necessary PPE.

• Auditor certification or equivalent experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities, including recognized auditor certification, qualifying oil and gas audit or technical experience, or demonstrable technical/auditing proficiency.
