Ansible Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute an automation strategy for the organization's IT systems utilizing Ansible.

• Create Ansible playbooks, configure Ansible Tower, and integrate Ansible with other tools and platforms.

• Oversee server, network, and software configurations throughout the organization.

• Automate software deployments across diverse environments and incorporate Ansible into development and deployment processes.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to the Ansible environment and automated tasks.

• Offer technical assistance to IT personnel and end-users.

• Ensure compliance of Ansible usage and managed configurations with security policies and regulations.

• Automate security-related tasks, including patch deployment and system hardening.

• Document Ansible configurations, playbooks, and procedures thoroughly.

• Generate reports regarding system performance, availability, and compliance.

• Train and mentor IT staff on Ansible and IT automation practices.

• Advocate for automation throughout the organization.

• Engage in an on-call rotation and travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT sector.

• At least 3 years of experience in managing Ansible environments.

• A solid understanding of Ansible components, including playbooks, roles, and Ansible Tower.

• Familiarity with Linux system administration, shell scripting, networking, and security principles.

• Experience with additional configuration management or IT automation tools is advantageous.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Readiness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Physical requirements might involve working in a data center environment and managing heavy equipment, depending on the specific role and location.

• RHCE or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation certifications are highly preferred.
