Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Incorporate smart product features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, including streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failures.

• Analyze and enhance app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model assessment and product refinement.

• Collaborate with ML and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system behaviors.

• Maintain production quality, app security, and adhere to Google Play Store release requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Android development with Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI-driven functionalities such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into live applications.

• Proficient in asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Solid experience with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Ability to create resilient mobile interfaces that accommodate latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Strong skills in debugging, memory management, and performance profiling.

• Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks such as MLKit or TensorFlow Lite.

• Proven history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
